We are only interested in solutions from solvers who have purchased a home and have a mortgage or are planning to purchase a home in the next 12 months and apply for a mortgage and are located in Canada, the United Kingdom, or the United States.
Buying a home is a commitment many of us think through repeatedly. We ask family and friends for opinions. We do hours of online research. We speak with bankers, financial advisors, realtors, and anyone who will listen.
But whose advice should you trust? For a first-time homebuyer, it can be hard to figure out. That's especially true when you get conflicting information, or when your friends and family may not have been through the home buying process in many years. We want your thoughts on the advice you have received in the home buying process, both good and bad.
Tell us about who you went to for home buying advice and how you felt about the guidance you received. Specifically, answer the following questions in detail:
- What valuable advice did you receive about buying your first home? Who gave it to you? How did you know you could trust that person's advice?
- What makes someone a mortgage expert? Who comes to mind when you think of someone being a mortgage expert?
- How would you prefer to connect with mortgage experts? Describe the experience in detail.
- Who do you turn to for home buying advice, and why?
